LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–April 26, 2006–Live Nation (NYSE:LYV), a leading live content and venue management company, has announced the appointment of Ned Collett to the position of Executive Vice President of North American Venues. In this newly created position, Mr. Collett will liaise with Live Nation’s seven regional Senior Vice Presidents to oversee operations in the 110 venues Live Nation owns or operates in North America.
A concert and venue industry veteran, Mr. Collett most recently served as Executive Producer/Vice President of Fox Theatre Business Operations in Detroit, running or programming such storied venues as The Fox Theatre, the Joe Louis Arena, the Cobo Arena and Comerica Park, to name a few. He was also the General Manager of National Car Rental Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a venue operated by SMG. He eventually rose to the position of Regional Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at the company. Mr. Collett also spent ten years at the University of North Carolina in a variety of positions at the Dean E. Smith Center. He began his career in 1980 in concert production, working in various capacities as a rigger, sight coordinator, accountant and unit manager.
