"Kevin has done a remarkable job of unifying the Live Nation and House of Blues club buyers in a very short period of time," said Jason Garner, President of North American Music. "His proven talent at building teams and his ability to develop and nurture artists as he has for so many years at House of Blues make him a perfect leader for our New York team."
Mr. Morrow will begin his new role as President of Live Nation New York effective immediately. He joined Live Nation with the House of Blues acquisition in the fall of 2006 and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Club and Theatre Programming.
Mr. Morrow joined House of Blues 13 years ago as the talent buyer for the House of Blues club on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Two years later he was promoted to Head of Talent and oversaw the openings of numerous House of Blues clubs and the subsequent talent buying teams at each venue, overseeing the House of Blues touring division as well, which produced more than 60 tours, including the groundbreaking "Smoking Grooves" tour. Over the years Mr. Morrow also served as manager to such artists as The Blind Boys of Alabama, Charlie Musslewhite and Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor.
The other key appointments in Live Nation New York are as follows: -- Phil Ernst, a seasoned music executive with more than 20 years experience in the business, will remain in his position as Senior Vice President of Bookings at the office. -- Jason Miller has been named Senior Vice President of Bookings. Mr. Miller most recently served as Senior Vice President of Live Nation Denver, where The Rocky Mountain News called him "one of the most respected and passionate bookers in the country." -- Sean Striegel has been named Vice President of Booking. Mr. Striegel most recently served as Director of Regional Club Booking Live Nation's Orange County and San Diego, California region. Mr. Striegel received the prestigious Talent Buyer of the Year award from Pollstar in 2004.
Mr. Morrow commented: "New York is the number one music market in the world and we set out to build a booking team befitting that stature. Jason and Sean are two of the most talented bookers at Live Nation who will complement Phil Ernst and the other great executives at Live Nation New York. I’m looking forward to continuing to build on our successes in the New York region."
In addition to the above appointments, Jim Koplik, who is President of Live Nation Connecticut and who has nearly 40 years of experience in the live music business, will play an expanded role in the New York operation.
