Dubai – 03 February 2013 – Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: LYV) today announced that it has expanded its operations in the Middle East with the opening of Ticketmaster in the United Arab Emirates.
Alan Ridgeway, Live Nation President of International and Emerging Markets, said: “We have been operating our concert business in the Middle East for five years and in that time have seen a significant increase in the number of concerts and sporting events taking place in the UAE and elsewhere in the region. Ticketmaster Middle East will initially operate in the United Arab Emirates but then expects to expand its services to other countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
The company will be led by David Grisham, formerly with Ticketmaster in Canada, and will be based in Dubai Media City. Events currently on-sale at www.ticketmaster.ae include Kanye West, Dubai Jazz Festival, Metallica, Chris Tucker and Creamfields.
