HELSINKI, FINLAND (Feb 15, 2019) –Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment company, announced today that it has acquired Finland’s leading hip-hop festival, Blockfest.
Blockfest was founded in 2008 in Tampere, Finland and has grown to be one of the biggest hip-hop festivals in the Nordic countries. The festival sells out annually, attracting a record 75,000 festival-goers in 2018, and takes place over two days at the Tampere Stadium.
“This deal cements Blockfest’s position in the festival calendar and will ensure that the festival attracts the hottest international acts going forward.
