Ticketmaster Grows Presence In Latin America With Expansion In Chile And Mexico

Ticketmaster, the global leader in live event ticketing, is expanding its position in the growing Latin American market. The company’s world-class technology and service will now be available to millions of live music fans in Mexico and Chile, while continuing to support existing business in Argentina and Brazil.

“Latin America is an incredibly important live entertainment market and a core focus of our global expansion efforts. The region has become an important destination for global touring artists, and we have also seen significant growth in venue and festival activity over the last several years,” said Mark Yovich, Ticketmaster President. “Bringing Mexico into the fold and launching in Chile is such a positive way to finish off the year. We look forward to working with our strong base of partners to elevate the fan experience and further our support of the region.”

Ticketmaster’s expansion into Latin America follows Live Nation Entertainment’s recent acquisition of OCESA Entretenimiento, one of the region’s leading promoters and owner of Ticketmaster Mexico. Under the new ownership structure, Ticketmaster Mexico will transition from a licensing agreement to integrating operations with the broader organization. Already selling over 20 million tickets annually, the move will enable the Mexican business to gain access to Ticketmaster’s full suite of industry-leading technology, products and services.

Additionally, Ticketmaster has launched in Chile, where the initial market focus will be on increasing digital ticketing use. Driving wider digital ticketing adoption will not only provide a speedier, frictionless way for fans to receive, transfer, and scan tickets, it also offers event organizers greater insights empowering them to create more personalized and enjoyable ticketing experiences.

“Ticketmaster has a strong foundation in Latin America,” said Adam Newsam, Regional Vice President of Latin America, Ticketmaster. “It’s fantastic to be building upon that by opening in new markets and strengthening our relationships with partners as our technology unlocks even better experiences for fans.”

With the goal of better servicing artists who travel the world to play to their ever-expanding fan bases, Chile and Mexico are the latest markets to be added to Ticketmaster’s Latin American roster. Ticketmaster has long had a foothold in Argentina, delivering ticketing services for several venues and festivals. While in Brazil, the company focuses on supporting Live Nation’s Rock In Rio music festival and touring business, with plans to bring its leading digital ticketing technology to the market in 2022.
