Live Nation, the global leader in live entertainment, in partnership with Publica Australia, Pavilion Australia and the City of Port Phillip, have today announced St Kilda’s new Palace Foreshore outdoor entertainment venue is preparing for a red-hot summer of live music.

One of Australia’s most iconic seaside locations, The Palace Foreshore is located just 7kms from Melbourne’s CBD and is adjacent to the historic Palais Theatre and Luna Park. Set against the backdrop of Port Phillip Bay, St Kilda is known for its electric live entertainment scene and bar and dining culture and has long been Melbourne’s summer playground.

The Palace Foreshore will be installed annually each summer, bringing a number of incredible live entertainment experiences to St Kilda, including one-day festivals, headline shows, large-scale brand activations and public events. With the capacity to host up to 5,000 people, the venue will play host to music fans across the country in celebration of incredible music talent.

The venue offers exceptional production, provided by Australian industry leaders with experience accommodating all music genres. The Palace Foreshore offers the highest standard of staging, audio, lighting, vision, and power production, providing both artists and audiences with a supreme listening experience.

Live Nation owns and operates a catalogue of globally renowned live entertainment venues, including St Kilda’s iconic Palais Theatre, Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul, The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, and Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide, and has unrivalled access to local and international artists. Live Nation’s operational experience is unparalleled and will assist in attracting a high calibre of performers to aid the growth of St Kilda’s bustling social and live entertainment cultures.

Ahead of the venue’s summer 2022 opening, a number of world-class acts have been confirmed, including Keshi, Sam Fender, King Gizzard, The Tesky Brothers, Six60, The Black Crowes and Tim Minchin.

Chris Akavi, Promotor at Live Nation Asia Pacific, commented: “The Palace Foreshore is a historic entertainment precinct and an integral location within Melbourne’s celebrated music and cultural scene. The 2022 summer line-up is set to be a dynamic display of world-class live music vital to the continued development of this landmark site, as music fans from across the country gather in St Kilda to enjoy this epic celebration.”

Jay Rayner, Creative Producer and Director at Publica, commented: We are excited to see large-scale live music in the St Kilda Triangle. The support of the City of Port Phillip, The Palais Theatre, The Foreshore, Acland St and Fitzroy trader groups has been instrumental in bringing music back to this historic entertainment precinct. We look forward to a huge summer that marks another significant step in the entertainment and hospitality industries’ recovery.”

The growth of the Palace Foreshore entertainment venue is supported by the Australian Government’s Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund, designed to reactivate the arts and entertainment sector on the back of Covid-19 shutdowns. The funding will assist in upgrading basic outdoor site facilities, and support Australian artists, producers, promoters, individuals and contracted supplier jobs. The events planned for this summer at the Palace Foreshore are projected to create approximately $2 million in direct job creation.

The Palace Foreshore series is set to return for another incredible summer series in 2023.
