Statement on TICKET Act

On February 5th, the U.S. Senate favorably reported the TICKET Act out of the Senate Commerce Committee. The bill seeks to reform the ticketing industry and better protect fans that purchase tickets to live events. The legislation includes policies that Live Nation Entertainment has long advocated for and will help support fans and artists.

Fans deserve access to fair and legitimate tickets for concerts and other live entertainment, which is why Live Nation and Ticketmaster have led the entertainment industry in fan friendly reforms. In 2023, Live Nation’s U.S. venues and festivals moved to all-in pricing so that fans see the total cost of the ticket right up front. Additionally, Ticketmaster works to ensure fans are protected by following industry-leading policies like banning speculative ticket sales on its marketplace.

With the reintroduction of S. 281, the TICKET Act, by Sen. Eric Schmitt and Sen. Ed Markey, Live Nation shared the following statement:

“We applaud Sen. Schmitt and Sen. Markey for reintroducing the TICKET Act, which includes all-in pricing, mandatory refunds, bans deceptive sites and speculative tickets – all key priorities Live Nation has long advocated. We thank Chairman Cruz and Ranking Member Cantwell for their leadership and look forward to working with lawmakers to enhance and strengthen this legislation and other protections for fans, artists, venues, and the concert community.”
