Arthur Fogel Signs Long-Term Contract Extension at Live Nation

In his new role, Mr. Fogel will continue to oversee the music division of Live Nation in its acquisition of live musical events around the world. In addition, he will continue to create global touring opportunities for the company where he has produced some of the most successful tours in history, making The Next Adventure one of world’s top international tour producers.

"Arthur Fogel is a true visionary in this industry," commented Live Nation Chief Executive Officer Michael Rapino. "Arthur and CPI Chairman Michael Cohl, are two of the world’s top producers in global touring of elite superstars in the music business. Live Nation continues to be a leader in local, national and global touring and the recent acquisition of Michael’s company along with Arthur’s re-signing solidifies our global touring service."

"The vision and leadership of Michael Rapino has transformed Live Nation into a dynamic entertainment company," said Mr. Fogel. "I am thrilled to be a part of it."

Mr. Fogel is currently producing the highly successful Madonna world tour, a world tour with Sting, and a major tour with Crosby, Still, Nash & Young. He also produced U2’s highly successful "Vertigo" tour, which sold an astounding 3.1 million tickets worldwide. The Next Adventure has promoted every David Bowie tour since 1990, as well as tours with Sting (the "Sacred Love" tour) and CSNY (2002 and 2000). The company was also responsible for a number of U2’s world tours ("Elevation" and "Pop Mart") and two additional Madonna world tours (2004 and 2001). North American touring projects have also included solo projects with Neil Young. All told, under Mr. Fogel’s guidance, The Next Adventure has grossed in excess of $1 billion.

Arthur began his music career in 1981 with Michael Cohl’s Toronto-based Concert Productions International (CPI), a company involved in promoting artists locally and throughout Canada. In 1986, he was appointed President of the Concert Division. Under his leadership, CPI produced an average of more than 250 concerts per year. In the late 1980s, in addition to its Canadian concert activity, CPI ventured into the global field, promoting The Rolling Stones’ "Steel Wheels" tour (1989) followed by their "Voodoo Lounge" tour, David Bowie’s "Sound and Vision" and "Outside" tours, and Pink Floyd’s "Division Bell" tour on a worldwide basis. Mr. Fogel continued in this capacity until the sale of the company to Universal Concerts in 1995.
