Ticketmaster Announces Partnership with Senators Sports & Entertainment

TORONTO, April 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Ticketmaster, a division of Live Nation Entertainment, and Senators Sports & Entertainment (SSE) today announced a long-term agreement for Ticketmaster to provide ticketing services for all Ottawa Senators games and other events at the team’s home arena, Canadian Tire Centre. The move to Ticketmaster enables the Senators to align much more closely with the rest of the National Hockey League, where more than 80% of NHL teams – including six of seven Canadian teams – utilize the Ticketmaster platform.

Effective July 1, 2016, Ticketmaster will replace Capital Tickets as the ticketing provider for all SSE venues. Through this agreement, fans will enjoy a comprehensive online ticketing destination that offers safe and convenient access to all available ticket options for upcoming events. Ticketmaster’s digital ticketing and mobile delivery functionality provides fans unparalleled security and ease when purchasing, transferring, reselling and redeeming tickets. While Ticketmaster’s exclusive barcode verification and reissue technology ensures that every ticket purchased is an authentic, Ticketmaster Verified ticket.

“We feel that returning to Ticketmaster will have a positive impact on our business, venue and fans,” said Cyril Leeder, President, Ottawa Senators Hockey Club. “We continue to look to the future of digital ticketing, data and analytics and believe Ticketmaster’s products and services will make a significant difference to fans in their experience buying Senators and concert tickets.”

Patti-Anne Tarlton, COO of Ticketmaster Canada and Riley O’Connor, Chairman, Live Nation Canada both agree today’s announcement is an exciting step forward, enabling both Ticketmaster and Live Nation to best activate integrated partnership opportunities with SSE and Canadian Tire Centre.

“We are thrilled to welcome back Senators Sports & Entertainment,” said Tarlton. “Our relentless focus on innovation to deliver new features, improved services, and an enhanced fan experience will provide Canadian Tire Centre with best-in-class ticketing services.”

As part of this move to Ticketmaster, the box office at Canadian Tire Centre will remain in place and fans will continue to be able to purchase tickets via phone, online and on mobile devices. Additional information on the details of purchasing tickets will be communicated to fans prior to the transition on July 1, 2016.
