PGA TOUR to Integrate Ticketmaster Presence
Directly Within the TOUR’s App to Simplify Ticket Management
LOS ANGELES, CA, (August 23, 2017) – Ticketmaster, the global market leader in ticketing, today announced an exclusive, multi-year agreement with the PGA TOUR to extend its relationship as the TOUR’s ticketing provider. The relationship includes an integration of Ticketmaster Presence into the PGA TOUR app to simplify ticket management at tournaments and further personalize the fan experience.
PGA TOUR fans can now have a seamless experience purchasing tickets through the PGA TOUR app, by visiting Ticketmaster.com or using the Ticketmaster mobile app to purchase verified tickets to PGA TOUR events. Fans can select the mobile ticket delivery option to have tickets delivered directly to their mobile device and managed through the PGA TOUR app.
“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Ticketmaster to improve the overall experience for PGA TOUR tournaments and our passionate fans,” said Peter Kent, SVP Tournament Revenue for the PGA TOUR. “The use of Ticketmaster’s consumer-facing technology in our newly updated PGA TOUR app is going to make the tournament experience that much greater for our fans. While other distribution methods will still be available, we are excited about the ease of ticket management the PGA TOUR app now provides to fans attending our events.”
PGA TOUR events around the globe have seen record-setting attendance numbers, with tournaments like the Waste Management Phoenix Open and THE PLAYERS Championship boasting some of the biggest turn-outs in recent years.
“Ticketmaster and the PGA TOUR have been working together for many years now, and the partnership has been successful in delivering a great ticketing experience for millions of fans,” Jared Smith, president of Ticketmaster North America, said. “We’re excited to bring new products like Presence to our innovative partners at the PGA TOUR who are engaging with fans in incredible new ways.”
As the world’s premier membership organization for touring professional golfers, the PGA TOUR co-sanctions more than 130 tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Web.com Tour, Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, PGA TOUR Latinoamérica and PGA TOUR China.
Tournaments will now have the ability to opt-in to the TOUR’s partnership with Ticketmaster as a way to streamline and provide a consistent ticketing experience for all TOUR fans. Tournaments like the AT&T Byron Nelson, Travelers Championship and Wyndham Championship have already utilized the new agreement to power their ticket sales through Ticketmaster and leverage this new mobile integration.
