BBC Music’s the Biggest Weekend Festival Taps Ticketmaster as Exclusive Ticketing Partner

LONDON, (30 January, 2018) – Ticketmaster, a Live Nation Entertainment company, has announced that it has signed an exclusive ticketing deal with BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend. The music festival will take place on four sites, in all four nations that make up the UK, over four days across the late May bank holiday weekend (25-28 May).

After a highly competitive tender process, Ticketmaster was awarded the prestigious account by the BBC. As the event’s primary ticketing platform, Ticketmaster will have over 175,000 tickets available for fans when they go on sale on Monday 12 February.

Those confirmed for the lineup include Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Snow Patrol, Beck, Billy Ocean, Manic Street Preachers and many more.

Ticketmaster will provide state of the art technology for the festival’s ticketing requirements in the lead up, and during the weekend across all four sites in Belfast, Coventry, Perth and Swansea – the latter to utilise Ticketmaster’s paperless ticketing technology. As the only ticketing agency in the UK with multiple operational centres, Ticketmaster will support the event via its local offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast.

Andrew Parsons, Managing Director of Ticketmaster UK, said, “Arguably the biggest event of 2018, BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend will bring the world’s top artists to audiences across the UK. We are incredibly proud that Ticketmaster’s experience in facilitating events of this scale has been recognised in such a way, and our teams right across the country look forward to providing fans with a seamless ticketing experience.”

Last summer saw Ticketmaster’s biggest ever festival and stadium season, with 142 Box Offices across the country and 3M+ tickets scanned.

Ticketmaster is the only official ticketing agent for The Biggest Weekend. Tickets for The Biggest Weekend go on sale on Monday 12 February. For more information about tickets, please go to blog.ticketmaster.co.uk/thebiggestweekend.
