Live Nation Entertainment Taps Rock World to Operate Lollapalooza in Brazil as Part of Growing Investment in Latin America

Live Nation Entertainment has announced Rock World will be the local production partner for Lollapalooza in Brazil, in collaboration with C3 Presents. Live Nation has been an ongoing shareholder in Rock World, and this move builds on their investment in the company. In addition to Lollapalooza Brazil which plays annually, Rock World is also responsible for Rock in Rio, in Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon, taking place in even years, and The Town, in São Paulo, in odd years. All events will be ticketed by Ticketmaster, which had a recent successful launch in Brazil. The company helped sell-out 150k pre-sale tickets in only 2 hours for The Town.

This movement is part of Live Nation Entertainment’s broader expansion strategy in the market, which also includes the development of a 20k seat arena at Anhembi District in partnership with OVG and GL Events. Live Nation is also responsible for bringing some of the biggest global tours to the country, such as Coldplay’s just concluded Music of the Spheres that amassed a total audience of 730k fans in 11 dates.

“Deepening our footprint in Brazil will help us better serve artists and fans while bringing more once in a lifetime live experiences to a booming market,” said Rafael Lazarini, SVP and Head of Business Development for Latin America, Live Nation. “We’re seeing incredible demand from all parts of the world, especially Latin America.”

The partnership between Rock World and C3 will boost LN already strong portfolio of Festivals in Brazil, capturing synergies and opportunities for the existent brands and opening space for new ones to be developed. With the mission of providing unforgettable experiences through music and entertainment, Rock World’s corporate culture is based on the art of dreaming, making things happen and inspiring people with the philosophy of building a better world.

Roberto Medina, president of Rock World, says:

“I love Brazil intensely. Our country is passionate about culture and we Brazilians have the DNA of those who know how to organize giant events with great quality. I am sure that through this expansion of our activities, we will be able to provide, on an even larger scale, more unforgettable moments for all Brazilians, full of joy, celebration and smiles. Next year, a new chapter will begin with Lollapalooza Brazil, which will have, along with its already established concept and original DNA, the seal of our 38 years of experience in producing large events with a focus on customer experience.”

“After a decade in Brazil, Lolla has become Sao Paulo’s biggest music festival and a brand loved by the community. We see great partners in Rock World with their decades of experience and look forward to bringing an amazing festival back to Sao Paulo next year,” said Charlie Walker, Partner, C3 Presents.
