LIVE NATION ENTERTAINMENT SUPPORTS U.S. HOUSE ADVANCING THE TICKET ACT

On April 8, the Transparency In Charges for Key Events Ticketing Act, or TICKET Act, was favorably reported out of the Energy and Commerce Committee – clearing a key legislative hurdle in the House of Representatives. The bill, H.R. 1402, seeks to reform the ticketing industry and better protect fans that purchase tickets to live events. The legislation includes policies that Live Nation Entertainment has long advocated for and will help support fans and artists. A companion bipartisan bill has already advanced in the U.S. Senate, championed by Sen. Eric Schmit and Sen. Ed Markey.

Fans deserve access to fair and legitimate tickets for concerts and other live entertainment, which is why Live Nation and Ticketmaster have led the entertainment industry in fan friendly reforms. In 2023, Live Nation’s U.S. venues and festivals moved to all-in pricing so that fans see the total cost of the ticket right upfront. Additionally,Ticketmaster works to ensure fans are protected by following industry-leading policies like banning speculative ticket sales on its marketplace

With the reintroduction of H.R.1402 by Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Rep.Gus Bilirakisi, Live Nation shared the following statement:

“We’re grateful to Reps. Gus Bilirakis, Jan Schakowsky, Chairman Brett Guthrie and Ranking Member Frank Pallone for re-introducing the TICKET Act, which includes an all-in pricing mandate and bans speculative ticketing – a deceptive scheme that targets concert-going fans. Live Nation has long advocated for such reforms, and we’re hopeful Congress could soon pass these important changes into law to make the concert industry better for fans and artists.”
