Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment company, through OCESA and Grupo Páramo, announces that it will begin operating its first venue in Colombia: Arena Cañaveralejo, marking another key step in supporting Colombia’s growing live music industry.
With more artists than ever looking to connect with their fans across Latin America, Arena Cañaveralejo will serve as a consistent touring stop, providing a premier stage for both international and local artists. As demand for live music continues to rise, this partnership will help expand touring opportunities while also building on existing cultural and economic impact, further establishing Colombia as a key destination for live entertainment. Through Grupo Páramo, Arena Cañaveralejo will bring more world-class concerts and events to fans, strengthening the country’s vibrant music scene.
As part of this effort, notable concerts have already been scheduled at this iconic venue, including those by renowned artists Fonseca and Andrés Calamaro. These concerts reflect the commitment to Cali as a destination city and its potential to become a key entertainment hub in the region.
The Arena was built in 1957 and underwent a major renovation in 2021, with a multi-million dollar investment. With a capacity of nearly 15,000 people and its prime location on the most traditional street of the city, this venue will continue to be the epicenter of Cali’s culture. In this context, the support of the Mayor’s Office and its commitment to positioning Cali as a tourist destination around live entertainment has been crucial in making this partnership possible.
“We are excited to take this step in Cali, a city with great potential for live entertainment,” said Gabriel García, CEO of Grupo Páramo. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of Miguel Yusti, Chairman of the Arena’s Board of Directors, who, along with the city of Cali, is joining us in this effort to offer fans world-class experiences and help boost the city’s cultural development and its regional growth, supporting its mission to make Cali a major tourist destination,” he added.
Meanwhile, Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, stated: “This venue will allow us to bring more world-class artists to Cali while also supporting local talent and growing the live music ecosystem in Colombia. Live Nation is committed to investing in Latin America’s thriving music scene, and this partnership with Grupo Páramo will help us create unforgettable experiences for fans in the region.”
This milestone reinforces Live Nation’s mission to deliver unparalleled experiences and strengthen the Latin American market, while Grupo Páramo continues to solidify its leadership in event and festival production in Colombia.
The operation of Arena Cañaveralejo will be key to the future of Cali’s music scene, providing new opportunities for fans to enjoy large-scale concerts and events in a unique space.
