Live Nation Investing $1 Billion in U.S. Music Venues – Boosting America’s Economic and Cultural Revival

LOS ANGELES (June 10, 2025) — Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV), the global leader in live entertainment, today announced that it is investing $1 billion to build 18 new and revitalized live music venues, bringing more big shows to smaller cities across America. According to Oxford Economics, this capital investment will spur $2.9 billion in total economic impact, including spending on engineering, development, and construction, along with $1.4 billion in annual economic impact for local communities once these venues begin welcoming fans.

Investing in America’s Heartland

In the next 18 months, Live Nation Entertainment will open doors or break ground on 18 new venues ranging from intimate clubs to large outdoor amphitheaters in communities including:

  • Allentown, PA
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Denver, CO
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Memphis, TN
  • Milwaukee, WI
  • Nashville, TN
  • Orlando, FL
  • Portland, ME
  • Portland, OR
  • Pittsburgh, PA
  • Raleigh, NC
  • Richmond, VA
  • Riverside, MO
  • Seattle, WA
  • Shakopee, MN
  • Virginia Beach, VA

Every fan deserves access to unforgettable live music – without having to drive hours to a major city. Live Nation’s commitment to expanding into smaller, underserved music markets means fans in vibrant places like Birmingham, AL, Virginia Beach, VA or Allentown, PA can now experience world-class events closer to home.

This investment comes at a time when Live Nation has more optimism about the live entertainment industry than ever before, driven by long-overdue ticketing reforms, growing fan demand, and a strong American economy. The company has voiced full support for President Trump’s March 31 Executive Order targeting ticket scalpers, as the resale industry siphons over $10 billion a year from consumers and artists. Strengthening protections for artists and their fans will help fuel even greater industry growth while keeping more dollars in the local communities where live events take place. Together, these efforts reinforce Live Nation’s long-term commitment to strengthening America’s live music ecosystem, from the biggest cities to the heartland.

“Our mission is simple: help artists deliver more unforgettable live experiences – and in doing so, create jobs, revive cities, and lift up the communities we touch,” said Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino. “As an American company, we drive impact here at home while also helping elevate and export the very best of what this nation represents: freedom, creativity, grit, and boundless possibility.”

The company announced this massive new investment program as it is gearing up for its biggest year of live music ever. To support this historic run, Live Nation venues have hired 37,000 U.S. workers to help deliver unforgettable experiences. And, to further expand fan access to the magic of live music, the company is also continuing efforts to provide over 1 million tickets to summer shows across the nation for just $30.

Live Nation’s portfolio of 150 premier venues across the United States represents roughly 4% of all music venues nationwide, helping create iconic destinations where fans can experience unforgettable live shows.

Growing the Live Music Industry in a Thriving Economy

Since the economic boom in 2017, Live Nation has continually reinvested to expand the live music industry to help artists and fans share more live music:

  • Exporting American Culture & Commerce: In 2024, Live Nation promoted tours for 400 American artists on global stages, reaching over 16 million fans – a 250% increase since 2016. These tours generate significant revenue for the American economy, while also expanding the reach and influence of American music worldwide.
  • Powering Venues Nationwide: The majority of shows promoted by Live Nation take place in venues it does not own, supporting thousands of independent and third-party venues across the country. In 2024, the company promoted nearly 6,000 shows in U.S. clubs and theaters outside its own portfolio – more than triple the number from a decade ago.
  • Hiring Good Jobs at Good Wages: Live Nation is among the largest regular annual employers in the country. In 2025, Live Nation filled 37,000 new jobs in the United States, setting the industry standard with a $20 minimum wage for most crew positions supporting events across the country.

Live Nation Remains the Largest Investor in Artists Globally

  • Promoting More Artists on Tour: The number of touring artists Live Nation supports has surged from 8,200 in 2016 to 13,000 in 2024 – a growth of nearly 60%.
  • Investing in Artists at Record Levels: Live Nation invested $14 billion in artists in 2024, more than triple the $4.4 billion invested in 2016. This supports headliners and rising stars, with a 25% increase in payouts to club and theater acts since 2019 alone.
  • Boosting Rising Talent: Live Nation also supported over 9,000 developing artists through its On The Road Again program. By helping artists keep 100% of their merchandise revenue, the program returned tens of millions of dollars back to them.

Most Fan-Friendly Concert Promoter and Ticketing Company

  • Stopping Price Gouging: Live Nation has been advocating for FAIR Ticketing reforms for many years and fully supports President Trump’s Executive Order of March 31, 2025 to end price gouging by resale middlemen scalping tickets.
  • Keeping Ticket Prices Low: 65% of all tickets Live Nation helps artists sell are under $100 – just 2% are more than $500.
  • Delivering Affordable Summer Shows: Live Nation organizes an annual summer sale of $30 tickets to hundreds of shows delivering millions of low cost seats to shows all summer.
  • Fighting Bots and Scalpers: Live Nation Entertainment’s ticketing division, Ticketmaster, spends millions of dollars each year to protect fans by blocking “bots” used by scalpers and ticket resellers.
